We are delighted to say that Carbon Intelligence has been awarded ‘Building Performance Consultancy of the Year’ by CIBSE!
After a difficult year, it’s great to be recognised by the leading international body, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, CIBSE, for efforts in tackling the building energy and emissions. We’re extremely proud of all the amazing work the team has accomplished. Special thanks to our supportive clients and here’s to a continued impact in 2021!
By now, you know the stat: almost 40% of global emissions come from the built environment. Much of this from complex, challenging and more often than not, leaky commercial buildings.
Over the past 10 years we have helped global market leading organisations, with a key focus in commercial real estate, on their building performance strategies. Having helped our clients save over £7million & 17,000tCO2e since the start of 2019, we enable businesses to understand and optimise their buildings and to use decarbonisation as a strategic lever to drive the transition to net zero.
Unlike many consultancies that only provide a data solution to monitoring building performance, we work with businesses as a trusted partner and advisor, integrating our team to become an extension of theirs. Our services are underpinned by the 6 dimensions framework of carbon intelligence, including our building performance and optimisation services, that ensures that companies have an integrated approach to setting and implementing credible net zero and ESG targets.
The challenge faced by almost every business this year has been responding to the COVID-19 lockdown and subsequent challenge of readying buildings for reoccupation. Our smart building technology and innovative approaches to building management enabled our clients to remotely monitor and manage their buildings. Allowing some to reduce their energy usage by over 70% during lockdown, resulting in significant cost and carbon savings.
Our technology is now being used to help clients manage a safe and successful reoccupation of the workplace. Ensuring offices are running efficiently to minimise covid-19 transmission is crucial to giving occupiers the confidence their need to return.
”Our Smart Buildings Programme is the first step towards decarbonisation of large and complex assets. The combination of the right software and expertise means we can help occupiers to save on their utility bills whilst contributing to our carbon reduction goals; it’s a true win-win scenario”
– Edward Dixon, Head of ESG – Real Assets, Aviva Investors
