Media Coverage | Empty commercial buildings wasting energy and money during Covid-19 lockdown

Facilitate Magazine have published coverage of our latest research that tracked and analysed energy usage from 300 buildings during this period following lockdown. Despite the strict social distancing measures preventing most, if not all, staff from entering the buildings, some buildings – the worst 10 per cent – were still using roughly 97 per cent of their typical energy demand.

Cian Duggan, founder and chief innovation officer at Carbon Intelligence said: “The Covid-19 crisis has put enormous pressure on businesses to reduce costs whilst ensuring health and safety compliance. We’ve seen smart building technologies help facility teams remotely manage assets, improving visibility and control over building performance when it matters most.”
