The Carbon Intelligence Charity initiative has been supporting two incredible charities, Lymphoma Action and SolarAid, for the past four years. Throughout the year we host a range of fundraising activities, everything from bagel making, quizzes, bingo, with the main fundraising event being a physical challenge. In 2019 we cycled 275km from London to Paris in 24 hours, raising over £6000.
This September, the CiCi team is boldly taking on a 55km trek along the Jurassic Coast to help raise money for our charities and to reconnect with nature and each other, after far too long sitting at home in front of our screens.
Any donations are warmly welcomed. Charities have been hit hard by the pandemic and any donations to our fundraiser would be greatly appreciated. Just £20 could help a patient who has just been diagnosed with lymphoma to receive the information and support they need or provide 5 solar lights to African families. Donate today.
Here’s a little info about the great work of our chosen charities:
Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. It raises money to conduct vital research on lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system), and to provide invaluable support to those with the disease and their friends and family.
SolarAid is an international charity that combats both poverty and climate change. It provides access to solar lights in Malawi and Zambia to help catalyse solar markets and eradicate the kerosene lamp. As a result, over 10 million people now have access to safe, clean solar light.
Helping our wider community
Our employee run charity initiatives are a way of making a difference in the wider community. We strive to have an impact across the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, economic and social. Our vision for our charitable initiatives is to showcase the role businesses can play in enabling both a zero-carbon economy and socially responsible communities.
